The OET review center is not just a place to help you get a higher band score It can also help you develop your skills for real-world applications. While there are many types of activities and exercises that you may do as a group, it is still essential to give importance to honing your skills as an individual. 

One exercise that you may need to do on your own is delivering your speech. This task will improve many aspects of your skills. However, when delivering your speech, do you know what type of speech you need to do for a particular topic and audience?


5 Different Types of Speech You Must Be Familiar With


To help you decide on that, here are some types of speeches that may be very useful for you. 

1.    Debate Speech 
When talking about debates, there are many exchanges of speeches made between two or more parties involved. The act of debating has many forms, such as classical, parliamentary, mock trails, extemporaneous, and public forum. Debate speeches focus on justifying a point regarding a particular matter. 

Delivering a debate speech can improve your skills in public speaking, leadership, and researching. Debate speeches are full of data that can back up your ideas. 

2.    Demonstrative Speech 
Educating the audience regarding something they do not fully understand is the primary goal of demonstrative speeches. They may include visual aids that can help relay the message. 

This type of speech is commonly mistaken as informative, but it differs in how they are presented. 

3.    Entertaining Speech 
This type of speech is an informal kind of statement. You may have seen entertaining speeches in your family gatherings or birthdays. Its purpose is to entertain the audience with engaging and hilarious stories and jokes. However, this is also a hard speech to make because you need to consider the audience’s sense of humor and perspective. 

4.    Motivational Speech 
Generally, motivational speeches are typical in our society because of the need of people for constant inspiration. In conveying such statements, you must have a specific technique to fully encourage and inspire the audience to follow the right path. These kinds of speeches are great to watch when you are losing hope in your review center for OET.

5.    Informative Speech 
When delivering informative speeches, you must be full of educative information and facts regarding a particular matter. It is also essential to have a detailed summary to guide the audience properly.
